The Lovers' Tale (3)
Tom just starred at her. She was looking really beautiful in that cherry dress. Her face was lit up when she saw Tom, and tears rolled down her pink cheeks.
"Yes Tom. It's me", she said with a smile.
Tom was in tears. He was waiting for this moment for six years, and she was there, standing in front of him. He had planned so many things to say to her, but his mind went blank. He experienced the same feeling he did when he had seen her for the first time. He did not say a word, he rushed towards her. She hugged him tightly. Both were in tears, and no one said a word. They found solace in that one warm hug. He looked at her face. He could tell she hadn't smiled in years. He gazed into her eyes, he could see she was happy. He held her face in his palms, and smiled at her. No one spoke a word. They just starred into each others' eyes.
"I waited for you for a long time, and I knew you'd definitely come one day", said Tom, tearing the fabric of silence in the room.
"I knew you'd wait for me. There hasn't been a moment that passed without me thinking about you. This is it now", Lily said wiping away her tears.
"Yes. Its you and me now. This is it. I've been wishing for this day for years."
Both smiled. Tom wrapped his arm around Lily.
"Care for some whiskey?", Tom asked.
Lily nodded with a smirk.
Both sat on the deck, chatting, picking up where they left off. Tom looked the beautiful night sky, then looked at Lily's bright face. He had been wishing for this day for years. He finally got his love, and it was a perfect happy ending to the lovers' tale.
