- The Marisol Deception - Part 7
Kinsley has made an important discovery - and what is Claire doing now?
Previously
Previously Claire traveled to Area 51 to meet Marisol as a ruse to distract her from seeing Jeff as a suspect in her husband's murder. Meanwhile, Kinsley sifts through George's belongings and discovers the Bible that George left behind containing information about the antichrist. NASA finds a huge asteroid about to hit the earth.
Talking only to herself again, Kinsley spoke. “666, the number of the antichrist. I’ve heard about that before. Is it possible Dad had discovered the antichrist? Is Marisol the antichrist?” Question after question entered her mind. She realized she would have to investigate the antichrist. She knew little about him - or her. For now, she’d go back to watch the rest of the news.
Although she missed the first part of the story, she did hear there were three asteroids heading for earth. NASA was working on a way to stop them, but time was running out.
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.-Revelation 6:13, 14
The news anchor continued to describe the devastation to be expected if the impact took place on land. The huge boulder was hurtling through space at a speed of 63,00 mile per hour. Although much of the rock would burn up upon entering Earth’s atmosphere, it would create a crater of dust nearly 60 feet deep. It would cause winds up to 1,400 miles per hour, flattening the surrounding landscape.
If the asteroid fell in an ocean, tsunami waves up to 85 feet would surge on to the closest landmass. Its final entry location had not been determined, but NASA was feverishly working on it. What they knew was that the strike would take place in less than two days.
Gravitational tractors only exist in theory. Without an accurate assessment of the asteroid’s entry point, it would be impossible to take aim at the beast plummeting toward earth. Its erratic movement left NASA at a loss of hope. The world took notice. The asteroid would leave its mark somewhere at some time. Nobody knew where or when.
Kinsley’s mind went back and forth between fear for the soon arriving asteroid and fear for her mother. Above it all, rose a curiosity about what her mother was up to. The door opened.
“Kins, I’m home.”
A frantic Kinsley ran to the door. “Mom, where have you been? What are you doing? Tell me this is just a bad dream.”
“Oh, Kins. If it’s a dream, it certainly isn’t bad. I had the most wonderful weekend. You’ll never guess who I met.” Kinsley put her hands on her hips and rolled her eyes. Claire insisted, “Go on. Take a guess.”
“The President of the United States.”
“Nope. Guess agai . . . Wait! How did you know?”
An annoyed Kinsley shook her head. “Mom! You’re front-page news. Do you have any idea what you’re doing?”
“Oh, yes. Marisol hired me to work for the president on a very important matter.”
Kinsley’s rolling eyes turned to raised eyebrows at the mention of Marisol. “Mom, did you say Marisol?”
“Yes. She is such a sweet woman. She’s so concerned about our planet - and she wants me to work for the president.”
Kinsley took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Mom, help me understand. If you’re working for President Dickinson, why didn’t he hire you? Who is Marisol that she should hire you instead of the President? Is she an elected official? Who does she work for? What’s her position?”
“Slow down, Kins. One question at a time - please!”

“Okay. Okay. Just one simple question - Who is Marisol?”
“Well, she’s, uh, she’s, well, I don’t know.”
“Great answer, Mom. Next question, Does she work for the president, or does the president work for her?”
“Well . . .”
The opened New Testament on the coffee table drew Kinsley’s attention. She looked at her mother. “Come here, Mom. I want to show you something. I was going through Dad’s belongings and I found this.” She handed the Bible to Claire. “Dad knew something we don’t. He knew about Marisol. Look at the note he left - MARISOL IS HERE - REVELATION 13. Revelation 13 is a reference to the antichrist. I don’t know if Marisol is the antichrist or not. It would seem the antichrist is a man. But you have to agree, Mom, this goes much deeper. You need to stay away from her. It’s not safe. She’s not safe!
“By the way, how did you ever get to meet Marisol or the president. This whole thing seems a little fishy to me.”
“Oh, Jeff is good friends with her. He introduced me. Kins, I know you won't like this, but I think I’m in love.”
“You’re right. I don’t like it. Mom, what is it with this guy? You barely know him. You go on a cross-country trip, and you come back as a presidential aide of some sort. Not to mention, he could be linked to some kind of international criminal activity. At the very least, or maybe I should say, at the most, he murdered your husband and my father.”
“Now, the irritation was on Claire. “You don’t know that! Whatever happened to a man being innocent until proven guilty? He’s the nicest man you would ever want to meet. As a matter of fact, he’s coming for dinner. You’ll have a chance to meet him then.”
“I have to show a house. I won’t be home for dinner.”
Kinsley turned to walk away, and as she did, she noticed the sky darkening. An update flashed on Channel 10.
This just in - Asteroid CO3CZA has struck the African continent. Libya, Niger, Chad, and Nigeria have been destroyed. Hundreds of millions of people are presumed dead. Do not be fearful. We expect the sun not to shine on the earth for several days as the dust settles across the globe. President Dickinson assures us all will turn out well.
The producer at Channel 10 interrupted the news anchor with another update.
We have an update. The fallout from Asteroid CO3CZA has caused much contamination in the South Atlantic Ocean. The flowing waters are carrying the debris over miles of ocean. The ocean's currents, being disturbed by the blast, are carrying the poisoned waters both westward and to the south. It is feared the waters will enter the Indian Ocean within the next three days.
In its wake, marine life is in great danger. It is estimated thousands of marine animals and fish have been destroyed. The waters off the coast of Nigeria and southward have literally turned to blood as these sea creatures have been affected. At this time, this strange poison has not been identified, but we hope to have answers soon. This red tide must be stopped before it is carried across the globe.
The news caught Claire's attention. "What is going on in this world? The president surely needs help. I'm glad to be on his team."
The news story jived with what Kinsley had been reading. “Mom, look at this.” She turned to Revelation 8:8-12.
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
Claire stared in disbelief - not in what she read, but in her daughter. “And since when have you become a Bible scholar, Kins? That’s just an old, outdated book of fairytales. I can’t believe you’re falling for this.”
“Mom, I can’t believe you’re falling for it. Look, a burning mountain. It’s the asteroid, Mom. It’s the asteroid. The contaminated waters, they’ve turned to blood. The clouds of dust from impact - you can’t even see the sun. And Mom, it all ties in with Revelation 13, the antichrist. I think it all ties in with Marisol somehow. I’m not sure how, but you can be sure, I will find out.”

Claire is always biting off more than she can chew. She does it again.
