From Part 22

“There’s something else, isn’t there? Tony, you know you can tell me anything - so tell me.”

“In a few short months, we’ve been through so much together. It seems like a lifetime. I know you better than anyone I’ve ever known.” He tossed the stone in the air and caught it. His eyes remained focused on the earth in front of him.

“Tonnny - there’s more. Talk to me.”

He glanced up at her face. It was still wrapped in Moonglow. Tony choked.

“Tony, what is it? We’ve become good friends. You can tell me anything. I won’t be upset. You know what they say - ‘honesty is the best policy’

She paused. "You are working for Marisol, aren't you? I knew it! I knew it!"

Tony stood and walked toward Kinsley. "What, Tony? Are you going to kill me? Go for it!"

Night Scene of The Arizona Desert

Night Scene of The Arizona Desert

And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. - Revelation 9:1-4

Tony continued to walk toward Kinsley, gun in hand - slowly and deliberately. Her nerves set in as she panicked in fear. Her mind raced, looking for a way of escape, but she lacked the desire to carry on. The thought of coming face to face with her Savior delighted her and life moved in a slow-motion, surreal sort of way. A single shot echoed through the desert night.

Kinsley fell to the ground, shaking and crying. In near hysterics, she blurted out, “Tony, what’s going on? If you’re going to kill me, then kill me.”

Tony pointed the barrel of the gun to Kinsley’s left. The dead diamondback lay glistening in the moonlight.

Tony dropped to one knee. He stuttered, “Kins, I’ve looked and . . . and waited for you all . . . all my life. I want to . . . I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you grant me that pleasure? Will you . . . marry me?”

“Oh, Tony. Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!”

Tony pulled a small box from his pocket and opened it. He slipped a gorgeous diamond onto Kinsley’s finger. Tears formed in her eyes. “It’s lovely. Mr. Menichetti, I love you! Where did you get this? We're in the middle of the Arizona desert."

"I got it a couple of months ago. I was just waiting for the right time."

"Let’s try to get some sleep. We have a wedding to plan.”

“Listen to me. Every woman deserves a lovely church wedding. Flowers, family and friends, a wonderful reception, and a beautiful gown. I can’t give you any of that. There are no churches. They’ve all been destroyed by Dickinson. Flowers? The best I can offer you is a sprig of desert mallow. Family? They’ve all passed away. And friends - all we have are enemies. Justice of the Peace? They’ve nearly been wiped out, too.

“It may not be the norm, but neither should shacking up be either. If you truly love me, and I love you, let’s give ourselves to God right now. The moon is our witness.”

Staring in her moonlit eyes, Tony began. “I, Anthony Menichetti, give myself to you, Kinsley Oliver from this night forward to love, protect, nurture, and build you for the Kingdom of God. It is in His sight that I give myself to you. He is my witness that my love is true.”

“I, Kinsley Oliver, give myself to you, Anthony Menichetti to love and honor from this night forward. I promise to assist you in building the Kingdom of God. I give myself to you in the presence of God Almighty and promise you and Him I will always be true.”

The sunrise, with all its gorgeous purples and pinks, flooded the eastern sky. Time wouldn’t wait for the Menichetti’s. They needed to be off - somewhere. Neither knew where they were going. Hours passed before they came upon a small town.

Their throats dry from the heat and dust, they entered an eatery on the corner of Main Street. Both made their way to their respective restrooms and guzzled water from the sinks. The absence of the mark would keep them from buying lunch. After freshening up, they walked to the door. a man met them there.

“The mark?”

Tony put on his puzzled face. “What do you mean?”

“The mark. Let me see the mark or we will need to arrest you. You are traitors to Dickinson.”

This called for fast thinking. Kinsley nudged Tony to the side. She raised her hand to eye level. “You mean this mark?” One quick jab of her index and middle fingers into the man’s eyes sent him to the floor in pain. They wasted no time making their get-away.

Once they were out of town, Tony asked, “Did you hear those two talking about an alien raid?”

Kinsley’s jaw dropped. “You mean aliens? As in Area 51?”

“That’s absolutely what I mean. Dickinson said they were coming in peace. To help fallen humanity. That’s not true. They’re evil. Their purpose is to torture us. These creatures aren’t as we suppose. They are demons disguised in extraterrestrial bodies.

“I don’t think we need to be too concerned. If my understanding of the Scriptures is accurate, they will not hurt the few people of God who remain on earth. I don’t see them arriving the way most would expect. They’re already here and make their headquarters underground. Revelation Nine talks about a fleet of locusts rising from the underworld, and that’s precisely what will happen.

“When John wrote the book of Revelation, he was looking 2,000 years into the future. What he described as locusts were the spacecrafts of an other-worldly invasion. It reminded him of locusts, but make no mistake Kins, it’s a demon invasion to be released from Area 51.”

Tony pulled a small notebook from his pocket. “Here, read this.” He passed it to Kinsley.

To: Aaron Dickinson, Kerry Wexford
From: Marisol
Re: Demon Invasion

Following on the heels of the pandemic, I will release a fleet of demon aliens from our training grounds at Area 51. The purpose of this is to further bring the world into subjection to Aaron Dickinson and through him to me. I will rule with a hand of iron as Dickinson follows my directives. The population of the world will cave in under the pressure of my special creatures. This will make way for a religious leader to strengthen the already established one-world religion. The enemy - the Christians refer to him as The False Prophet. And so shall he be leading the world into the devotion to me and my satanic minions.

Please keep in mind The Marisol Deception is fiction. The Revelation account speaks of literal locusts satan will use to attack humanity, not spaceships.

“Where did you get this notebook? This is unbelievable.”

“Believe it! It’s going to happen soon. I picked it up a couple of years back when I was doing research on Marisol. The world will be thrown into sheer chaos once again. The purpose of the demons is to trouble, aggravate, and torture the foes of God. God has promised His children protection. If the others would see what God is doing and who He is, they too could become part of His family, but most will keep on rejecting Him.“

As Kinsley and Tony went on to talk, a cloud of darkness covered the sky. All was quiet as hundreds of alien ships filled the heavens. The silent objects twisted and turned at will. They hovered over the area as laser beams flooded the sky. Each beam was directed at an individual, burning them and causing great suffering. The Menichetti’s were grateful to be alone in the desert, far from the town under attack.

Even though they were miles away, they heard the screams of pain floating on the air. An eerie sensation settled over the land. Not a sound was heard except for the painful cries of the townsfolk. The holy judgment continued on a people bent on refusing God.

Forced Steps carried the weary couple through the desert. Nothing to eat, nothing to drink, no place to rest. Strength was fading fast. Courage was nearly gone. Kinsley wasn’t sure she could make it through another night in the desert. Tony tried to be as supportive as possible, but he was feeling the same pain. Living on the run was not part of the original plan.

Tony stumbled over a small rock and fell face-first. Getting up, he realized it was not a rock at all but an old radio - batteries included. He turned it on in time to hear Dickinson make a speech.

Hello, my people of the globe. I am here to announce the grace period for receiving my mark which allows you to buy and sell freely runs out at midnight tonight. I encourage you who have yet to receive it, do so now.

A couple has drawn my attention in the United States. Kinsley Oliver and Anthony Menechetti have consistently broken the rules. They have scoffed in the face of our great planet and have chosen to worship someone other than myself. They have regularly escaped our law enforcement agencies. I will stop them. We are honing in on their location as I speak. I will reward handsomely the man or woman who brings them to me.

“Wait a minute!” Kinsley was confused. “They had no reason to stop us at the restaurant because we didn’t have the mark. We can still buy until midnight. Let’s go back and get something to eat. They have to serve us.”

“Did you even hear the rest of Dickinson’s announcement? There is a bounty on our heads. We go back, we’re dead.”

“It has to better than dying here.”

I like Tony's style: if you gotta die, you might as well pick the circumstances. lol Solid chapter, great action, and a very timely topic. Well done, buddy!
