I have a vast interest in numerous topics. I write about many different things.
Standing beside her best friend in the midst of the mid-day traffic crowding the Macon airport Brianna awaited the plane that her boyfriend of the last year and a half was supposed to arrive on. Turning to her best friend Dawn standing right next to her Brianna finally speaks, “What do you think he will be like in person, Dawn?”
“Don’t know, Brianna, but I doubt he will be much different than what he is online.” States Dawn as she studies her best friend of six years. Her long, curly blonde locks pulled back in a ponytail behind her head.
“What makes you say that?” questions Brianna as she looks over at the stout brunette standing at her side. Her best friend had seen a lot in her seventeen years, that was why Brianna had brought her along to the airport with her was because she knew that Dawn was a good judge of character.
“Just making a statement, Brianna.” Replies Dawn as she raises her hand to sweep a strand of hair out of her eyes than looking at her best friend Dawn thinks, “Lets just hope he is not another repeat of the last one.”
Turning her gaze to look at the passengers that have started to come off of the newly arrived plane from Washington Brianna slowly sweeps her eyes over the crowd until she finds who she is looking for. Nudging Dawn in the ribs she points to the tall, young man with black hair and chocolate brown eyes that has started to make his way toward them.
“Hi there ladies.” He drawls as he sets his bags down and sweeps Brianna up into his arms.
“Hey Adam, it is nice to see the real you for a change.” States Dawn as she smiles at Brianna and nods her head as a sign that she likes him.
“Well it is nice to see you too, Dawn. Instead of the instant message tyrant remarks that you usually send me.” He counters back at her as a smirk forms on his face.
“To bad you didn’t lose your weird sense of humor on the flight down.” She states as she rolls her eyes at him.
“Come on, let’s get going you guys. I got to get Dawn home before it gets to late.” Interrupts Brianna as she smiles up at Adam.
“Let’s go ladies.” States Adam as he Brianna’s cheek and gently sets her back on her feet.
Gently taking hold of Adams hand, she begins to lead the way out of the airport and to her baby blue Corvette in the parking lot. Once Adams luggage is place in the truck they all climb into the car. Starting the engine Brianna backs the car out of the space, and heads toward Dawns house. Pulling into the driveway behind Dawns car she stops her car and turns to look at her friend.
“I guess I will see you tomorrow, right?” questions Dawn as she looks back and forth between Adam and Brianna.
“Yeah, we will meet up at noon and at the library.” States Brianna as a smile forms on her lips.
“Alright then! See you later!” replies Dawn as she climbs out of the car and turns to wave one last time.
Putting the car into gear Brianna backs out of the driveway and heads toward the motel. Once Adam is booked and settled into his room, she takes a seat on his bed and watches him. A sad look momentarily crosses her face and her voice has a slight sound of fear to it. Adam takes a seat next to her on the bed and looks at her with obvious concern in his brown eyes.
She leans over and kisses him hoping that he did not notice. Then asks how his flight was trying to keep him occupied so it would not register to him that the look had crossed her face.
“How was your flight?” asks Brianna softly.
“it was fine.” Replies Adam.
“That’s good.” Replies Brianna with a frown again crossing her pretty face.
“What is wrong?” asks Adam a bit concerned.
“I do not know I just have a funny feeling something is totally wrong.” Answers Brianna uneasily.
“With what?” he asks quietly even though he has a feeling he knows what she is going to say.
“I am not sure exactly.” She answers barely above a whisper.
“Everything is fine, honey.” Says Adam as he slowly takes her into his arms and holds her there.
“That is good to know.” Replies Brianna looking up into his eyes as she begins to cry.
“What is the matter, sweetheart?” he askes her as he wipes the tears off her cheeks.
“I am not sure really I just have this really scary feeling that something is happening that I do not know about…. Does that make sense?” she replies sadly.
“Oh yeah it does…” he answers and then askes, “Is everything ok with your parents?”
“I think so.” She answers solemnly and lays her head against his chest.
“That is good.” He answers and is quick to reassure her that things between them are fine to or rather better since they were actually seeing each other. Then Adam pulled her a little closer against him and tipped her face up so that he could look into her eyes and then he kissed her nose and her lips and smiled down at her.
They talked and talked just like that for the next few hours. They are so in love. He askes her if she could possibly stay with him that night and she says she would have to call and tell her parents that she was staying with a friend because they would never approve of her staying in a hotel room with a guy. He replies that it is fine and tells her that he would be happy either way as long as she could stay.
He finally let her go so he could go get something to eat. While he was gone she called her parents and told them that she was going to stay over at Dawn’s house for the night. Since Dawn wanted her to go with her to a nearby town early the next morning, but she did not want to risk waking them if she came for Brianna. They said that was fine and that would see her the next day.
Next, she called Dawn and told her where she was and asked her to tell her parents if they called that she would get back to them after she got out of the shower. Since that would be a way to give Dawn enough time to call her and then she could call her parents. Finally, they got it all worked out then they hung up. Adam was just coming back into the room and he asked how it went.
“I think they bought it.” She said smiling up at him from the chair where she was sitting.
“That is good.” He replied walking over to her and reaching down to take her hand and pull her to her feet. Then he took her into his arms and kissed her lightly at first kind of cautiously then he deepened the kiss when he realized she was not going to pull away from him.
Finally, she pulled away and looked up at him. He smiled down at her. He released her as last so that she could get showered and changed into the clothes he had handed her when he got back. When she walked back into the main part of the room she found him perched on a chair looking over something she assumed was some type of work. She stood in the doorway for the briefest of seconds just looking him over.
As if feeling her eyes watching her turned around and smiled at her the smile that had stole her heart almost as soon as he got off the plane. She slipped across the room and sat down on the bed almost on the very edge of it. In a way you could probably say she was scared or maybe she was filled with anticipation.
He got out of the chair and walked over to her. As he stood in front of her since she did not immediately raise her gaze to meet his eyes. He carefully and ever so gently tipped her chin up so that she was looking at him. He moved his finger from beneath her chin and raised his hand to pull the towel away from her damp hair. As he pulled it away from her head her hair fell in deep tendrils ad curls down her back and framed her face gracefully. At that moment he knew that he would love her forever. She looked up into his eyes and he saw so much trust radiated in her lovely eyes. Finally, he took her in his arms and held her there until he had enough courage to ask her the question.
“Darling?” asked Adam somewhat quietly as if trying out the word for the first time.
“Hmmm…” she answered softly as she pressed her cheek against his chest.
“Darling, is the time, right?” he asked cautiously wanting only to do what she would allow him.
“Right for what?” Brianna asked innocently as she looked at him with all her trust and love showing in her eyes.
“Never mind, darling” he replied easily. Not wanting to say anything that would scare her into wanting to leave.
“Are you sure, love?” Brianna asked gently with a note of concern in her voice.
“Yea, it is alright, dearest.” He nods at her.
He leaned his head down and kissed her gently at first then deepened the kiss as if to show her all the passion he held for her. Gently he picked her up in his arms and laid her back on the bed. He climbed into the bed on the other side and settled down next to her and pulled her against his chest and wrapped his arms around her. He finally tucked his head into the hollow of her neck and both of them promptly feel asleep.
