Brianna Simmons Chap. 15

Updated on April 22, 2018

Holding a hand on her tummy Brianna follows the officers as they lead Jonny out to the police car she tries to figure out in her head the scene that had occurred in her hotel room. Without success though she finally gives up and turns to talk to the nearest cop.

“Um… sir?” Brianna speaks to the cop nearest her.

“Yes, ma’am,” he answers, “I am Officer Donny Markett.”

“Ok Officer Markett, how do I go about getting him out of jail?” she asked as she caught Jonny’s eye and smiled.

“You don’t want to file charges against him?” askes the officer as he glances over his shoulder at the young man in the car.

“No sir, I do not,” answers Brianna in a firm voice “He did not do anything wrong he was just protecting me against my ex-boyfriend. If I was to press charges it would be against Adam Tayler not Jonny.”

“Oh ok. Well just come down to the jail with two hundred dollars to make his bail and we will let him go.” States the officer as he turns and climbs into his car “You can file your charges against the other one at the same time if you wish.”

The police car pulls away just as Adam is coming out of the hotel room and he walks over to Brianna with hopes that she will talk to him. “Brianna, can we talk now?” asks Adam as he watches her climb behind the wheel of her car.

“I do not have anything to say to you, Adam, except that I want you out of my life. Leave me alone or I will press charges against you.” Brianna replies as she turns the key in the ignition.

“Why are you acting like this, Brianna?” asks Adam quietly.

“Because Adam, honey this is pay back for how you treated me.” Answers Brianna as she glares at him.

“But Brianna, this is not fair.” Replies Adam as he looks at her finally taking notice of the anger reflecting in her eyes.

“Who said anything about playing fair, Adam?” questions Brianna as she finally rolls up her window and backs out of the parking space heading toward the jail.

As he stands there outside the motel watching the girl he has known and loved for so long as he can remember. He begins to wonder what it is that ever made him turn his back on her. Slowly walking to his rental car, he climbs in and starts the engine and backs out of the space. Turning onto the street headed back to Macon. He tries to formulate in his mind a way to get his girl back and get this Jonny character out of her life once and for all.
