Brianna Simmons Chap. 12

I have a vast interest in numerous topics. I write about many different things.

After Adam had made his retreat to the room he was using at Dawn’s parents’ house for the rest of the time he was in town. He sat contemplating whether he should try going back over to Brianna’s the next day but knew that it would hopeless. Shrugging his shoulders, he realized that he would still go ahead and take the chance of calling Brianna’s cell phone the next day.

As he heard a knock at the door Adam turns in time to see Dawn as she enters the room and makes her way slowly across the floor with her blue, silk ankle length gown sweeping the floor as she walks. She looks at his eyes and begins to wonder what has to be going through his mind for him to be wearing such an expression as has on his face at this moment.

“Adam, darling, what could possibly be wrong?” asks Dawn as she come to a stop in front of him.

“I am feeling bad about Brianna.” Adam answers in a soft whisper as he put his arms around the woman that stood before him.

“What about her, my love?” Dawn whispers back to him swinging her arms up and around his neck.

“I did not want to hurt her, Dawn, I loved her.” Replies Adam.

“I know, darling, but do you not see that getting rid of her was the only way that we could be together.” Whispers Dawn softly.

“I know Dawn,” Adam said with a slight nod of his head “but I still did not want to hurt her.”

“I know sweetheart,” replies Dawn sharply “though, what we did was only what we had to do.”

“Yea, I know, but it still just does not seem right.” Answers Adam.

“Adam, if you were so worried about doing what is right then why did you even bother leaving Brianna?” asks Dawn in an exasperated voice.

“Dawn, I do not know why I left Brianna. I know that I love you, but not the same as I love her.” Replies Adam.

“Fine! Why don’t you just go crawling back to Brianna then? See if I care.” Huffs Dawn as she storms out of the room slamming the door behind her.

Dawn walks down the hall to her room and just as she reaches her bedroom door her mother comes out into the hall and asks what is going on for doors to be slamming. Dawn lies and says that she had just shut Adams door a little to hard when she left his room. Mrs. Sharply looks her daughter up and down and seeing nothing amiss she returns to her room.

Dawn walks into her own room and closes the door. She goes and lies on the bed wondering to herself why she is cursed with a crush on a guy who does not seem to even really want her.

Adam meanwhile has fallen asleep laid across the bed. Tossing and turning on the bed almost as if he is having a nightmare of some sort. He sits bolt upright and wipes the sweat from his forehead and finally makes up his mind that he is going to fight for Brianna no matter what it takes.
