11 Bible Verses About Patience and Tolerance in Hard Times

Dexter is a pastor who enjoys reading and studying the Bible to inspire and empower others

Patience is one of those virtues we should all pursue, but especially Christians. For Christians, without patience, we will struggle to stay afloat spiritually. But if pursue, patience is a strength that will benefit us in every area of our lives, especially when things aren’t working out as we plan.

When life’s troubles come thick and fast—our patience will help us to stay calm and make the right decisions necessary to continue growing spiritually.

But let’s be honest, exercising patience is easier said than done, especially in a world where everything is moving at a fast pace. Almost everything is at our fingertips. We need money—we take out a loan; we need direction in our lives—we pay for a prophecy.

Who needs to wait for God when we can get the things we need by ourselves? But the truth is, we all need God in our lives. Because there are things in life that only God can fix. Or can we use our money to buy peace and joy when in need, or maybe use our wealth to buy good health when we are sick? I think not. But the wisest, and in my estimation, the only thing we can do and find reliable help is to wait on God to intervene on our behalf.

For some, you may still look at this from a different angle, and that’s fine. But if you are serious about your spiritual life, and you want to grow spiritually—then learning patience is necessary.

Patience is a virtue we all need to succeed, whether you're pursuing success or waiting on God, patience is imperative. So here are 10 great Bible verses about patience that you can read to boost your faith.
