Dexter is a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ who finds joy in helping others succeed.
The Bible is a powerful book that contains principles, instructions, and promises that the devil doesn't want you to know. The devil is an evil spirit that doesn't like you, he is vicious, and is responsible for most of life's trials. However, you can overcome him, but it will require faith and trust in God's word.
You are probably trying your best to remain hopeful but given the perils unfolding daily, you're finding it extremely difficult to stay focused. I won't pretend that trusting God in these last days is the easiest thing to do. In fact, trusting in God in turbulent times is one of the most difficult qualities to perfect as a Christian. But faith is powerful, even in the hand of the weakest saint. God has given us victory, and as such, we can all stand our ground even when all seems lost. God is faithful, he is with you, and your faith will see you through. Your confidence in God is your escape route and the virtue that'll make the difference, keep hoping.
Don't Get Me Wrong
I've heard of persons who have lost their spouse, mother, father, child, and even beloved friends. Other folks have lost their marriage, job, house, and even their sanity.
I have witnessed firsthand how hard it is to cope with the reality that the once-promising life is now gone, I know the pain. But as daunting it may seem, I want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength. He is that friend that sticks closer than a brother, don't you give up.
A Word on Faith
Faith is the ability to act out your conviction based on scriptures. That being so, don't be surprised when the devil brings adversities to challenge your faith. When this happens, I've learned that it boils down to answering these two questions:
- Are you going to allow life’s trials to get the better of you?
- Or, are you going to trust God, exercise tolerance, and wait on His deliverance?
If you ask me I will tell you that waiting on God’s deliverance is way better than submitting to life's trials.
I'll be frank; waiting on God is easier said than done, especially when the devil is on the prow. However, Our God is faithful and He will deliver you from life’s afflictions (Many are the affliction of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all. Psalm 34:19). God cannot, and will not lie—He means what He says and says what He means.
Bible Verses About Faith And Trust
"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
"Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture."
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
"So faith comes from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ."
"But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked."
"Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition, but of them, that believe to the saving of the soul."
"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit."
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength."
"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God."
"Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies."
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
1 Peter 5:7
"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
How do you apply these verses to your life?
- Read. I can not help but stress the concept of reading. Reading is not only limited to the Bible but reading other people’s testimonies and learning from them is a good practice to embrace. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.
- Believe. One of the greatest hurdles to believe is doubts. Doubts cripple the mind and prevent the heart from believing God’s promises. But a good way to overcome doubts is by approaching God's promises with a childlike mind. Don’t spend too much time questioning if or how God’s promises are possible, just believe them.
- Meditation. Meditation is the key to success, and this verse shares the same view “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8.
- Confession. It may or may not be a surprise to you, but our confession of God's promises can usher in the blessings of God in our lives. “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21.
