Poem from the Master

O SUFFERING CHRIST

“O suffering Christ,
My heart of love
Suffers with you and for you.
O forgiving Christ,
My love of life
Enjoys with you and for you.
O illumining Christ,
My life of love
Is for you, only for you.”
– Sri Chinmoy

Wise quotations from the Masters

"There's no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear." 1John, 4:18

"He who loves, never grows old. God is a shining example." -Sri Chinmoy

"He that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is Love." 1John, 4:8 KJV

"There is only one thing that is, was and ever shall be, and that is Love. The Love that creates, the Love that nourishes and the Love that sustains God's universe." -Sri Chinmoy

Jesus, the Christ, was born of Mary, some 2000 years ago. She was purity immaculate, and her husband Joseph, a very devout soul. Jesus did some miracles in his early life and became one of the world's most loved Divine Incarnations. (The descent of God in human form)

The Christ was a powerful and reverential speaker, who was filled with compassion for all, including the sick or those afficted with various ailments and handicaps. He was crucified by those who were ignorant and not receptive to his teachings. Others felt that he was becoming too influential and usurping their stranglehold on power.

This was not His purpose, as he spoke of another Kingdom, not of this world, but within... a Kingdom of Heaven full of everlasting Bliss. He also - like any scripture - spoke of recommendations to follow, to arrive at that Kingdom: Prayer, selflessness, forgiveness, mercy and a host of others, with Love being the key and longing the arms of the key: Seek … knock, etc.

Words of God-souls do not die and the Christ is very alive today, especially so at Christmas, as he ever was. "For lo, I'm with you always, even unto the end of time." Christ.

The Sri Chinmoy Centre celebrates the birth of Christ every Christmas, as a mark of respect for His Love and concern for humanity, compassion, divine authority, complete surrender to the Will of His Father and many other Divine qualities.

"We meditate on the Christ.

We repeat His name countless times.

Without the Christ-Consciousness,

Our life is totally lost.

Christ is for all.

He is our divinity's Son,

And humanity's Father." - Sri Chinmoy

"Jesus, Jesus, O Jesus!

You are heaven's dearest Child,

For the upliftment and enlightenment

Of the whole world,

You sleeplessly remain awake." - Sri Chinmoy

"O Saviour dear, you are so near.

Lover kind, bind my Heart bind.

O Father pure, I am all yours sure." -Sri Chinmoy

All quotes of Sri Chinmoy so far are songs and most were dedicated to the Christ. The Sri Chinmoy Centre singers, especially Mountain Silence and Ananda, travel throughout the world, singing Guruji's Christ-Songs in churches and cathedrals. Happy Birthday Christ, Our Lord.

Some lofty and immortal words by the Christ

"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

"I and my Father are one."

"The Kingdom of Heaven is within you."

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."

"Blessed are the pure in Heart, for they shall see God."

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God."

Mere Prabhu (My Sweet Lord)

Source

Mere Prabhu, my Christ, my Lord,

Why should I worry about hunger,

When Your Love feeds my Soul?

A full stomach is soon emptied,

But a Heart of gratitude endures,

Even unto everlasting life.

Mere Prabhu, my Christ, my life.

I could have slept forever.

But You came to me in the early hours

Of the dawn, and sanctified my life.

O Light of forgiveness, each moment,

Like a river of diamond rain,

You wash my muddy banks.

Thus my acquired sediments are removed,

From the heat of daily strife.

Mere Prabhu, sweet Jesus, my Light,

I saw Your suffering face,

I cried and cried. I felt Your forgiving Heart,

I danced … and danced.

Christmas Cheer

Contrasts of chill, Christmas tidings and joy,

Snowballs and mistletoe, reindeers and sleigh.

Magi’s on camels; to thwart Herod’s ploy,

Mary’s child to destroy; now on his way.

Jesus, the Christ, in a stable was born,

Bright stars pointed East and Bethlehem sung,

Lowly and simple; a babe to adorn,

Sending us Santa while Christmas bells rung.

Merriment and cheer; the talk of the town,

Carols a plenty, lights sparkle and shine.

Turkeys and puddings, in plenty abound,

Season of good will, of course there is wine!

Cathedrals speak of the Spirit of Christ,

There’re gifts for our children; friends old and new.

Families gather at tables so nice!

Chats are a plenty; intoxicants too.

Three cheers for a time of friendship and peace,

A day of good will and tempor’ry bliss.

Sacrifices. An acrostic poem

A s the tool His flesh did gore.

C hrist’s immortal words of Love,

R esonated low; above.

I srael’s son upon the cross,

F aced the callousness of man.

I s it really such a task,

C rying for His Father’s Land?

E nter through God’s Gates of Light;

Ha ha. Everything is a triumph for the Divine. You, me, we are all His. Guruji teaches that God will not allow any soul to remain unrealised. The Mother may take time to reach us, but She will surely come at the appointed hour.

I will say, though. The semantics are not necessary. Self, Allah, God, what does it matter? Water is Pani in Hinduism and aqua in Spanish. yet it is the same. Read my 10 interviews with Ioannis. He is a bit like you. The mind is too active. Slow down. Humans are making the spiritual life difficult.

Do the basics: prayer, devotional songs, serve selflessly, that could be your family. Offer gratitude. Make Love your daily practice, you will see changes in a very short time. God is whatever or whoever you want It to be: Love, Light, kindness … and so forth. As you develop other things will begin to make sense. Hari Om!

Note: I am grateful for the miracle. (Chuckle) You are as God as I am. Why do you think Saints are so humble? They know that you are Spirit … the same as they are. It is only a matter of degree or levels, if you like.

I will work on my morning/evening practices. But I am so cynical, so anti-God. But I will soften my heart one more time. There, you have your miracle for the day.

      Thanks Devika.

Have a blessed Christmas yourself. Enjoy!

      Hi Chris,

This is a soul-stirring and very sincere piece. Of course I'm not surprised by your degree, you show and have shown spiritual leanings for quite some time.

Yes, the old way of Christianity is too narrow, but many are bridging this gap now. Spiritual Masters come and like the Christ, they create a shift in the Universal Consciousness. If you pay close attention, you will see that humanity is evolving faster, in a spiritual sense.

Glad you liked my poems. I'm not really 'fussy' about them like some of my friends, because writing comes so easily to me. I can do most things.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm not asking that. Keep cultivating the feeling of acceptance. It is ok to fail or even fall. Just remember to pick yourself up, that is all. It is much easier to do this, when we feel that what we have is not 'free will', but 'limited freedom.'

God is always in charge and we are His instruments, or if you like, the body is the temple of Spirit. So what's necessary is not necessarily a new Faith, but spiritual practice, that is to say, feed the soul. I have a shrine at home and have sat in practice daily and relentlessly, for 37 years.

The mother has two children. One cries and one doesn't. Whom will she go too? God is just like that. On the one hand, He is impartial and on the other, He responds best to those who are trying to lighten His burdens.

Don't be hard on yourself. I grew up in Christianity and was very devout. I have bibles for outstanding studies and many certificates! So what you think was useless, has been a very good foundation. I'm only presenting Christ in a different way but he was definitely God's son and is still very much alive.

I admire you though. You are evolving all the time and I rather suspect that you know all this now. Intensify your morning practices or evenings just prior to bed and all will be well. Ask me for whatever you wish to know. I will help if I can. Glory be!

      Hi Peggy,

I treasure your comment and am very happy to see you this side of Christmas. Have a great season and an abundant 2020. Praise be!

Well, you finally have written on a topic I know something about. Not that it is doing me a lot of good now, but my bachelor's degree is in Biblical Education. After graduating from college I spent a summer as a missionary in Papua New Guinea. After that, I was the pastor of a small congregation in Michigan. Before college, I spent almost three years traveling in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala with an organization whose goal was to convert people to Evangelical Christianity.

Your Christ is so different from the Christ I preached. I respect your Christ. I am not now so fond of mine. He seems to be nothing more than a narrow-minded bigot...or worse, the invention of a narrow-minded bigot.

I like how you seem to be using different types of poetry. The acrostic is cool. The one with rhyme and meter is very nice. Don't get me wrong. You could not write bad poetry. I am a big fan of both your media and your message. Blessings from the universe in general to you this holiday season, my friend, manatita.

You have a wise Heart, Bill. Or is it a star at this time of year? Heading for the right stable, I'd say. Merry Christmas, Bro.

      Elijah ,

They come from time to time. What's necessary is the eye of mystic vision and an open and receptive Heart ... plus grace, of course. Somehow, our Father gives this only to the receptive. Who knows the ways of the Lord?

If you find yourself thinking, then please forgive me this one time. I do not like to encourage thought or dialogue. The Heart ... the psychic Heart ... Merry Christmas Bro!

      Thank you, Linda L.

We are all playing our roles. Pray for me so I try even harder. Glory be!

May you have a joyous Christmas, Manatita, after publishing such praises to the Risen Christ. However, remember that according to the Bible there's to be another Christ Advent before this civilization ends so may you be open to receive his coming.

Again, may this Christ celebrating time bring you joy.

Jesus is one of my best pards. Every morning I wake even before out of bed we chit chat. He always says to rejoice in the day and be glad in it. I always whine and He says to knock it off. He is really quite rude.

Wonderful poetry as I expect from you. You express love so well.
