What Can We Do on a Stressful Day

Isn't it amazing how God can turn our worries and trials into blessings? If you are stressing about something today, know you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. Again, there is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good.

Here are some of the things that you can do on a stormy day:

1. Get away from what is causing you the stress

This is one of the things that most people are having a hard time doing because they dwell on the problem so much as if they will not run out of strength. Most of the time they want the problem to be resolved right away on their own. It is okay to pause. Surrender this stress to the Lord, because His ways can do so much that is beyond our capabilities. Be with your family for a bit, and share your thoughts and how is your work going so far, in that way, you won't feel the stress so much. After that, you can go back and deal with the problem and pray about it.

2. Cry if you need to

There is nothing wrong with crying and there is nothing wrong if the things that make you cry are big or small because the moment you feel you want to cry because it makes you feel anxious, go ahead and cry. Sometimes tears can speak for us and our Lord can see that. There will be times that because of having so much stress, we can no longer speak because we don't even know where to start and that's okay. The Lord is not expecting us to be strong always and be happy every day. He can give us the best comfort that we need and He can definitely hear us even just crying.

3. Shift your gear

When we are stressing ourselves out over some things and we are so focused on them, that's the time we will be so drained. Our spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional will be affected if we are letting ourselves be stressed out about some things that are not worth it especially if we know that there is someone who can handle it for us and that is our God. For example, if you are working and felt that stress is arising, shift your gear, you can do something else first for a bit then take a deep breath and pray. There is nothing wrong when you stop for a little while, it is not going to ruin your productivity, just know that you are worth it and everything is under control by our God. You don't need to carry them all, instead, have God carry them all for you.

4. Take a deep breath and smile

Just because we are working on something and busy with our meetings at work doesn't mean we can't smile and just be serious all day. Hey! don't you know that smiling is also one of the tools that can make your current situation turn into a smooth and happy one? When we are always serious and not smiling, it attracts negativity as well, so when we smile and think of happy thoughts, it attracts positivity. Our life is not perfect and it will never be but we can always do something about unpleasant situations, they are not permanent, we only need to be still and trust the Lord that He can make all things brand new so you can see that there is always hope.

5. Pray about everything

You may have seen this in my other article but this is true because this is the most powerful thing to do. God wants His children to be prayerful as this is our way of talking to Him and showing Him that we have time for Him. Also, we do not pray only because we need something but we pray because we are thankful for every day because God has never left our side whether we were facing hardships or having an amazing day. So praying is not based on what we feel and what we are experiencing in life. May we learn to love God because we are His children and He loves us so much. Remember, God can take care of everything for us, so surrender everything that is causing you so much stress. We know that stress has no good for us, so don't embrace it, let go and let God.

How Can “Be So Stressed” Turn Into “Be So Blessed”

Let’s take a look at stress from a different perspective. Not only is stress not bad, but it’s also required for growth, and can help you achieve things you never thought possible. For example when you exercise. A person lifts weights, he or she puts more stress on the muscles and the bones of the body. And despite the damage that the muscles incur as they are broken down during the weight-lifting process, the body quickly repairs the damage and returns the muscles to a healthy state that is even stronger than before.

In this same way, all of life’s trials and tribulations, and all of the challenges thrown our way, provide opportunities for growth. In fact, they’re a prerequisite for growth. If one were to remove the stress, then much of the motivation to strive for success would be removed as well. Therefore, the real test is not stressing itself, but how one responds to it. Merely experiencing stress is not unhealthy. Stress does become a problem, however, when one remains stuck in the pattern. The body is never given a sufficient opportunity to heal, nor do we seize the opportunity for personal growth. Instead, the body remains, in a state of fight or flight, just trying to survive.

Life is often stressful and overwhelming. However, it’s also constantly presenting opportunities, frequently in the form of a crisis, for us to grow beyond what we ever thought possible. In every situation, crisis, or challenge, there lies a blessing to return to a greater state of wholeness, a state that could not have been experienced any other way. In this way, stress serves as a catalyst for growth and healing. When you take the time to truly find the benefit or blessing in every crisis, you transform the challenge into an opportunity to unfold into the unique and amazing person you were always meant to be.

Things to Remember When We Are Stressed

Sometimes we let our negative thoughts control us and we end up feeling stressed day after day. We worry more than we smile. We forget to truly live life and enjoy everything it has to offer. Don’t let life pass you by. Take charge of your mind and life.

Here are some of the things to remember when stress is bothering you:

1. Your mistakes don't define who you are

We all make mistakes, we are not perfect and we will never be. God did not design us perfectly and He knows that we all have flaws and that is why He is teaching us some of the things that we need to learn so we can have improvement to those flaws. God will never make us perfect, but He only wants us to follow Him so we will be guided in the right direction. And when we are in the right direction, we will never be doing the same mistakes again and we will see that we have grown and learned something. We will always have room for improvement.

2. Not getting what you want can be a blessing

We cannot force things to happen but we can trust our God who knows what is ahead of us. When our plans are not aligned with God's plan, He will make a way to stop our plans especially if He saw something not good with the plan we made. Not getting what we want becomes a blessing because of God's protection and love for us. Remember, God is the only one who is in control of everything. No matter how hard we try, we will never have things turn into something how we want them to be because only God knows what should be done or not.

3. What others think is not important

As long as we are aware that we are not doing something bad to others, we are on the right track and God can see everything we do and everything they do to us. So whatever others think about us will never be important. Only the eyes of our God will matter to us because when the judgment day comes, we will be with our God who will judge how we were doing here on earth. Our good works will never be the basis of our judgment but it is our conscience. So when we are doing things whether it is for our own good or for our loved ones and we are obeying God's word, just keep going because only the eyes of God matter.

4. You are strong enough

Even if we feel like giving up sometimes, it is also important for us to remember that we are strong enough. So long as we have God in our lives and know that He is the only omnipotent source of strength then we will never be defeated in any battle we will face. God is with us all the time and He will never let His children suffer especially if we are good at following His word. Keep in mind that God loves us so much so there is nothing that He can't do for us. He will fight for us until the end. God wants us to finish the race or fight strong.

5. Good things will happen to you

It is also good for us to keep in mind that every good thing will happen to us because God's promises are true and He is a good promise keeper. He will never fail us. Once He said it, He will give it. We all deserve to be happy. Just because things can turn bad, it doesn't mean that God is not letting good things happen in us, there is just some lesson that He wants us to learn and for us to grow as well. Sometimes when God saw that there is something in us that shouldn't be staying in us, He removes it and gives us the best even if it was far from what we were expecting it to be.
