Thomas has travelled the world and seen and met with many people of various backgrounds. His motto is, "Travel is the best teacher".
Faith and Trust
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
As a Christian I trust in Christ who is my Lord and my Saviour.
I trust in Him even though I do not see Him in physical body. I have faith in Him and trust that what I read and learn about Him is true.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us this: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Even though we don't see Him in the physical that does not mean we are blind to what is going on or that our faith and trust is blind, because we do see in the spiritual. That is, we see by reading the Word of God and see through our prayers. When we read and pray, we see in the spirit the hand of our Lord in action.
This may seem foolish to those who are not followers of Christ, but to those who are, it is not foolishness, we understand.
Faith and trust go hand in hand.
I trust Jesus because I have faith in Him and in who He is.
I have faith in Him because I trust that He is who He says He is. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I do not lean on my own understanding because my own understanding is limited, I am a mere human and know that there are limitations to what I know and understand. So I put my faith and my trust in Jesus because He is Lord of all. He has the answers to all our questions and the ability to do whatever He needs to do. He is not bound by human limitations, and since we are His children, His followers then we are in actuality not limited either, except by what He deems necessary for us.
Jesus can do all things. If we ask, He may do as we asked Him or if He feels it is not good for us or it is not time then He won't do what we ask. He knows what is best for us, we just need to trust Him and have faith that whatever the answer is, it is the best for us.
Some may say that Philippians 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
The answer is, "Yes you can" because we are told so.
We can do all things through Jesus who give us the strength to do things. We can overcome the enemy, self doubt, sin, fear etc. We need to trust in Him and have the faith in Him also that He can and that He will. However, we do not know when we will get the answer or the results to our prayer. Our timings are not always His timings. Be patient and wait upon the Lord.
Faith and trust in Jeaus is really not blind faith and blind trust. We may not see Him, but we do know He is with us, so it isn't blind trust and Faith.
Blind faith and blind trust are based on no evidence, but we have the evidence that Jesus is who He says He is. This has been proven time and time again, even if some people don't want to believe or acknowledge the truth.
In the following verses we have affirmation of this truth.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
The Lord does not change, He is the same yesterday, today and will be the same tomorrow.
So we know what we read in the Bible is truth today as it was truth in the past and will remain truth tomorrow as well.
Keep your trust and your faith in the Lord, He will be with you always. You read these few verses so now your trust in Him and your faith in Him is not blind, it is based on fact, on the truth as you read it.
