A Hymn: What I Loved
Singing and composing hymns and other songs have been part of my life since my teenage days
Composer’s Foreword
I am not good in notes, but from the local church trainings while in choir, I have come around with this hymn using another hymn. If you know the hymn beneath, then you can join me to sing this song unto the Lord.
O Lord of heaven and earth and sea
The Composed Song
1. Lord its one thing that I loved
Even all the days of my life
Yea the habitation of thy house
Where thine honor dwell
2. It is one thing that I desire
That thing will I even pursue
That I may dwell in the Lord’s house
Where thine honor dwell
3. ‘Cause if ‘am living in his house
In time of trouble he ‘ll hide me
Even within his pavilion
Where thine honor dwell
4. He ‘ll set me up even on high
He will place me upon a rock
For I dwelleth even in his house
Where thine honor dwell
5. And now my head ‘ll be lifted up
Above the enemies that surround me
Sacrifice of joy an’ gladness I ‘ll offer
Where thine honor dwell
6. Oh Lord I ‘ll even extoll Thee
For my foes don’t rejoice over me
For I dwelleth even in his house
Where thine honor dwell
7. Thou has turned my mourning into dancing
My sackcloth you ‘ve even put off
Thou has girded me even with gladness
Where thine honor dwell
8. You should praise the Lord even with harp
And with instrument of ten strings
All of you living in his house
Where thine honor dwell
9. You should sing new song unto the Lord
Play skillfully with a loud noise
All of you who are his people
Where thine honor dwell
