A Hymn: Unto Thee, O Lord, Belongeth Mercy

Singing and composing hymns and other songs have been part of my life since my teenage days

Composer’s Foreword

I am not good in notes, but from the local church trainings while in choir, I have come around with this hymn using another hymn. If you know the hymn beneath, then you can join me to sing this song unto the Lord.

Simply Trusting Everyday

The Composed Song

1. O give thanks unto the Lord

For the Lord even is good

Because even his mercies

Endureth also for ever

Lord thine belongeth mercy

For thou ‘ll render to every man

‘Ven according to his works

‘Cause power belongs to Thee

2. O give thanks unto the God

Even the God of all gods

Before whom the seas hath fled

And Jordan was driven back

3. In thine mercies oh the Lord

Thou stilleth the noise of seas

Even the noise of their waves

And the tumult of the people

4. Thy mercy the Lord the God

Pulls me out of miry clay of sin

Because thou wanteth mercy

Thou wanteth not sacrifice

5. Thou sent thy son to the world

In multitud’ of thy mercies

To come and deliver men

Out of the midst of their sins

6. It’s thou oh Lord that doeth

Searches out ‘ven every heart

Thou art the one who tries reins

Thou knoweth all humans thought

7. Thine eyes oh Lord are opened

Upon all ways of sons of men

Everything that’s in darkness

Clearly are exposed to you

8. Thou oh Lord showeth mercy

Unto whosoever thou want

Have mercy on me I plead

Even child of thy maid servant
