A Hymn: If There is No Love, Its Vanity

Singing and composing hymns and other songs have been part of my life since my teenage days

Composer’s Foreword

I am not good in notes, but from the local church trainings while in choir, I have come around with this hymn using another hymn. If you know the hymn beneath, then you can join me to sing this song unto the Lord.

O Paradise, O Paradise (Paradise)

The Composed Song

1. Though even if it be that

I speak different languages

And even that of the angels

And I do not have love

Anything I may have

Whatever I may become

If it lacketh in love

They are all vanity

2. If I do not even have love

Irrespective of the languages

I may even be speaking

Am a sounding cymbal

3. If I have gift of prophecy

Understanding all mysteries

And even all knowledge

Yet and there is no love

4. If I have even all the faith

That I could move mountains

Highest of mount to the dungeon

Yet and there is no love

5. Though I bestow all my goods

Even to feed the poor

And the needy ones around

Yet and there is no love

6. Though I give my body

Even to be burned

And I don’t even have love

This too is vanity

7. More than ‘verything in the world

Let us even seek love

We should show love to the brethren

This is God’s desire
