time enough

Updated on April 8, 2018

chalk on the main
a children’s game
society’s shame
soon washed away
memories erased
but not mine of you

i heard your song
you sang no wrong
your heart so strong
it gave me no choice
my freedom to give
but it’s only for you

a narrow lovers path
brick pavers to last
rain and sun bath
walked upon slowly
without permission
only me with you

every word a treasure
give them full measure
don’t cut short ever
haste has no reason
there's time enough
to fall in love with you
