"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
The birds chirp from above,
Whistling in glee.
Humming a joyous melody,
Along with the sudden gasp.
The water flows in the ground,
Slowly creating a sound.
Cascading its way down,
Cleansing away the dirt.
The air offers,
A wonderful touch.
Caressing your skin,
'til you shiver within.
These simple things,
Are bigger than
The world creates,
A different rythym.
A magical music,
Who knows how to listen.
"I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
— Billy Joel
Poetry & Music
Poetry is a song written by the hands of the mighty creator. A hum that is meant to be sang aloud and even louder than our problems, mournings, and myseries. For it offered compassionate care to heal our broken souls. It is created to put the strings back together. It is there for the hearts to unite in glee.
Old or new, long or short, every piece of poetry is a wonderful gift from the mind of those who are expressive. It is a supplement that give nourishment.
Poetry is music. For these two carries ravishing elements together.
Music gives meaning to a song. It complements the art and emotions illustrated through words. It carries out melodies to lift up the spirit especially those who needs more motivation. Those who have seen tragedies and/or love.
Music is the soulmate of poetry. The very heart of the earth.

A lovely poem. Have you read the HubPages article, "NASA Voyager Recordings of The Music of The Planets" by Nell Rose? It seems to add another dimension to Plato's words.

Welcome. This is a lovely article and one I can relate to as music and poetry have always been part of my life. Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favourites.
