Summer has left and autumn has arrived. The trees are finally starting to change, and my seasonal war against the little leaves has already begun. No matter what I do, the little leaves are tracked all over the house.

But this isn't my response to seasons. That's coming, I hope. haha! Rather, here is my take on hunger. Hunger for success, hunger for spite, hunger to thrive: I think all three run through this short poem. Life takes us all for a ride; some of us get a first class ticket in the dinner car, others find themselves stowed away in the back with the cargo.

As always, a big thank you to Brenda for these creativity prompts.

looking out the window

I can almost see

what once was;

everything coming together,

the world in my palm.

Supposedly, pressure makes diamonds

but all it gave me was war and ruin.

My own worst enemy

reflected in my eyes,

calmly watching my demise.
