Short, sweet, and to the point. I'm back with my signature style for week 47. Brenda's prompt, treasure, is a fun one. This didn't take long at all, I think the winter spell graced me with creative inspiration.

Enjoy.

It all started

that one summer

laughing and joking

a healthy dose

of angst and cynicism

no harm in a discarded square

of aluminum foil.

The sweet taste

of Marlboro Red

shared with friends

a few sips

smile and dance

the sharp sting

Jim, more tempting than Jack.

Live it up while you're young

chase the feeling

immortality looks good on us

but it all blends together

until fun turns into escape

you can't say no

to feeling alive.

It keeps getting harder

the world closes in

but we'll be safe here

with our little treasures.
