Happy Thursday everyone! I'm back with another response to Brenda's generous creative prompts.

As I was scrolling through the timeline, I notice we could comment under new followings, but nothing else. As my 13 year old would say, sus. haha! I miss talking with all of you in the comments and I know I'm not alone in that. But it is what it is, I suppose.

Anyway, it's an unseasonably sunny, warm December day here in Ohio. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked out the door to start the car this morning. I found myself with a little time this afternoon and inspired by the sunshine, I decided to sit down and tackle the remaining prompts.

I was particularly excited about rainbow. You know me, I love coming up with something completely out of the box, giving a different, unexpected take on an idea or topic. One of these days, I might just surprise you with something upbeat and happy. haha!

This prompt reminded me of the unexpected surprise and the joy I feel when a rainbow pops up. What a true sight to see! A few years ago, I was capturing photos for a yoga challenge and I was graced with a rainbow. Luckily, I was able to include it in the shot. Last year another unexpected rainbow appeared, and this time we could see the entire arch.

Here is my response to rainbow. Enjoy.

deep, dark

passion and pain

a slow burn intensifies

brilliant and hot

who knew burning

could feel so good?

All good things

must come to an end

or so they say

but the truth holds out

as you fade away

barefoot, running

spin me in circles

wild, carefree

the taste of freedom

tainted by uncertainty

Life trudges on

with a blink

realization hits

the sand has all fallen

there's nothing left

Where did it all go?
