Happy Monday! A brand new week deserves a little creative writing, don't you think? After seeing week 28's prompt, I immediately thought of the life cycle of stars. This was one of my favorite themes.

Thank you Brenda!

Supernova

far too bright

need to turn away

I was looking for an escape

now there's no way out

wishes fall

dreams are devoured

madness resides around every corner

laughter abounds

but the halls are empty

it's only me

and my reflection

echoed back in the distance

too far gone

I can't turn away

there was never an escape

it's only ever been me

a quick shimmer

releases the illusion

engulfed by waves

and then

silence.

This is another awesome poem, Alyssa. I like you take on Brenda's prompt. The photos add to the poem. Well done!

Alyssa, you always manage to find a unique take on the words offered in Brenda's prompts, and I really like that. This is a wonderfully written poem, and that second "fiery" image is a real eye catcher.

Alyssa

This is another excellent piece of work.

I think this is about how one often plans his life out in his mind creating an illusion about the reality of his life.

But he sees his dreams vanishing & he feels helpless looking for away out when he realizes it was just an illusion he made up in his heart.

The dreams were one-sided.

He hears silence as the door is closes.

I'll post a link in the word prompt article.
