Happy Monday! A brand new week deserves a little creative writing, don't you think? After seeing week 28's prompt, I immediately thought of the life cycle of stars. This was one of my favorite themes.
Thank you Brenda!
Supernova
far too bright
need to turn away
I was looking for an escape
now there's no way out
wishes fall
dreams are devoured
madness resides around every corner
laughter abounds
but the halls are empty
it's only me
and my reflection
echoed back in the distance
too far gone
I can't turn away
there was never an escape
it's only ever been me
a quick shimmer
releases the illusion
engulfed by waves
and then
silence.
