And so it ends.

You might have read my summary (if it hasn't been "edited" that is) where I called this the last in my trilogy. I guess I've arrived at the moment where I need to set aside time to figure out direction for that second Instagram. I've mulled over a few different ideas in the past month, but have yet to arrive at a decision.

I'll get there.

I'm also still mulling around Brenda's prompt, first. Something will come to me soon, I'm sure.

In the meantime, here are the final three pieces I saved from oblivion. I hope you enjoy them.

Sunshine dazzles

illuminating amber, crimson, and gold

this breathtaking show

signals the change

furry creatures scatter about

hurriedly collecting their stores

the tall tree stands stoic

as a brisk wind blows

it's time to let go

the leaves flutter and dance

raining down to the cold ground below

all except one

who stubbornly holds on

not giving in

not giving up.

All is still in the early hours

as the sky alights in a fiery scene

what a treasure to witness

this little gift

a mixture of science and mysticism.

Two old rocking chairs

side by side

a silent reverie

except for the crackling flames.

Two old hands

resting gently

one atop the other

70 years come and gone.

Two old souls

content and full

what a life they've built.
