It's in the Eating

I finally had a go at one of Brenda's word prompts. This poem is in response to the word prompt proof

its-in-the-eating

It's in the eating

The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

that well known proverb says.

I've had it used against me many times

as I struggled along life’s pathways.

We’ll believe it when we see it

Is the phrase they used en masse

The only proof that I knew

was the percentage in my glass

I hope that this pudding I'm making

of the journey of changes I face

has all of the many ingredients

of the new life that I want to embrace.

When it comes to the proof in the eating

I want it to leave a good taste

and l will know that I have been successful

if I look at a dish with no waste.

A wonderful response to Brenda's word prompt, Charlie. As soon as I saw the word prompt this week, this saying came to my mind too. You got it spot on. I enjoyed reading this poem.

Charlie,

I'm so glad and you decided to join us...

Gifting us with your words.

That proof in the pudding gets us every time.

I know and have heard the saying We'll believe it when we see it.

I hope this journey you are making had those necessary ingredients.

I'm definitely here on your side.

You will know when you finally make it.

It will be so awesome my friend.

Take care.
