I Watch as a Light Mist Covers the Tree Tops
One Wet And Dreary Day
Where all the beauty in life fades away
It is seen in the dull light
Where children would normally play
Rolling inside the big plastic ball
Bouncing high on a trampoline
Close together as they told secrets to one another
Laughing so loud anyone could easily hear
The fun and joy in each word
All we have is the trees leaves glistening
The green weeds and grass look like tiny little reflectors
Later rain comes down hard
Making small pockets of puddles along the drive way
Pounding hard against the silvery car
As each solar light tries to light
Only working for a short time
Until they go dark
The water races across the deck
Then instantly disappears through the cracks
Life is forever changing
What was once a sunny and warm
Now is chilly and raw
The dampness seeps into everything and everyone
We wait for tomorrow
Another day of rain may follow
Then again the bright sun could surprise us
Lighting up the bluish sky
With this incredible fierce sunshine
The children will run as fast as they can
As the sweat pours down across their forehead
In the open spaces
Finding endless energy to play
As we once also did
Where nothing else seemed to matter
Only what we were doing in the moment
Was all there was and we were so happy

Gypsy Rose Lee I enjoy the weather when it is cool and breezy. The hot sun gets to be a little too much for me. I love the rain and a touch of snow. Thank you so much for sharing and caring. Have one beautiful day.

Wonderful poetry. Days seem to change the mood depending on the weather. When it is hazy out and heading for rain I love to go out because the bits of raindrops that fall refresh but when the clouds mingle with sun and the humidity climbs it is best to stay indoors.

Louise Powles Each day is so different. The weather can make the day wonderful one time and gloomy the next. We can appreciate each day by sharing it. Thank you so much for reading and caring.
