Haibun Poetry Stranger Promise

Anupam, a teacher by profession has been passionately writing poems and stories as a hobby for more than two decades.

Haibun on Expectation

I fainted while reading a book that I had in my hand. I was all alone at home

waiting for him, who promised me that he will come to meet me after so long.

It was not the first time that he promised but this time I was very sure that he

will come and be with me for some time, though he even promised in the past,

that he would stay with me forever and be my fateful future till my last breath.

I still believed him

He might be in some problem

Or else he would come.

Please try one poem in this form. You will love this. I love to try every form that come on my way. Have you seen the Blitz form?

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on June 22, 2020:

Thank you so much Demas. That's the reason I feel people here authentic than the other sites. And when we naive ones get encouragement from experienced people like you, it's a kind of blessing for us.

It's very easy to criticize and make fun of others mistakes but its gets a pure and lovely heart to motivate or inspire others.

Definitely, I will share as much as I can as I am overwhelmed by such wonderful responses by such great writers whose work I loved to read.

Thanks again

First glimpse of a "haibun". Thanks for sharing what you are writing. Keep posting other poetry you have already written. This is a great place to share them with copyright protection.

Miebakagh Fiberesima from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, NIGERIA. on June 15, 2020:

Anupam, all the best and God's blessings.

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on June 15, 2020:

And Miebakagh, I am really thankful to you for reading this form. I wish to learn so many things from the ones around me.

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on June 15, 2020:

No dear, it's a sort of imagination. I just tried to write Haibun and it's partially fictional. I am a sort of person who just believe in God and have a firm Faith on Him. So in every situation I keep on hoping for the best, this poem can be interpreted in that way. Though I have fallen several times and got badly hurt, I never lost one thing. That was hope. I remember, 'This Time Will Also Pass, As Every Past Time."

Miebakagh Fiberesima from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, NIGERIA. on June 15, 2020:

Anupam, this poem if I am not mistaken is a reality based on one of your life experience, like before your ill health, right? It is beautiful. It is powerful. But always concentrate on the positive aspect. It will continue to enhanced your health. Thanks for sharing.

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on June 14, 2020:

Thank you so much Hari. I am glad that you liked this.

Anupam Mitu (author) from MUMBAI on June 14, 2020:

Dear John, It's really my pleasure that you read it and I hope that you liked it. Yes, I have also tried this form for the first time, but what I have written talks about the expectation of lady in love who is waiting for her beloved even though her heart and the promise had been broken several times in the past. But her firm belief says that he will come, and if he doesn't, he might be in some trouble.

John Hansen from Queensland Australia on June 14, 2020:

Thank you for sharing this style of poem. I had not heard of “haibun” before.

Hari Prasad S from Bangalore on June 14, 2020:

Very interesting format and a great poetry too. :-)
