Despair

A passionate poet, I try capturing the current goings around the world through verses. Poetry is my vent for all things I feel deeply.

Do you feel it?

I still remember,

All single days,

All single nights,

When I had,

No courage to say,

No courage to fight,

No energy to walk,

Till the end of the tunnel,

Till I could see the light.

Despair seemed like an old friend,

Quitting seemed so easy.

The past mistakes,

Not mine,

The past decisions,

Others took,

I complied,

Not bothering what it was doing to me,

For I had all the comfort, I could ask for,

For I was spared from the agonies of Freedom.

Everything had been a mess,

Since the day I stopped being me,

Everything had always been a mess,

Since forever.

I ran, so others could see I can move,

I spoke, so others knew I wasn't mute,

I lived, so others could see I'm not dead.

Throughout the time,

I didn't know I could have my way.

All single days,

All single nights,

When I had,

No courage to say,

No courage to fight,

No energy to walk,

Till the end of the tunnel,

Till I could see the light.

Lost I was in an address,

Lost I was with an identity,

Lost I am, in the crowd.

Suffocating in my receding brightness,

I spread my arms to stop the wall from closing in,

It was the day I moved,

Broke free of the definition.

Of life, I was fed since birth,

I could see the disappointment,

Their discomfort towards me,

Unable to accept my questioning,

The last efforts of a fish out of,

Their ego's pool.

The disappointment was inevitable,

They had expected the,

Watermelon to be green from inside too.

As I realised, I am worthy,

I had found,

My courage to say,

My courage to fight,

My energy to walk,

Till the end of the tunnel,

Till I could see the light.
