As If You Care

Author:

As if you care

I’m left here wondering why you care

I scream and I shout into the void

But there is never anyone there

And yet again and again you swear that you care

But again and again when I go searching the room is bare

Only when I am not hurting do you appear

As if you know

As if you care

But only enough to say so

Never enough to do anything

What do you do when the ones you could talk to aren’t the ones that come calling

What do you do when it feels like you’re falling

Falling

Falling

And its only when you land

Scream out in pain

And rise to your feet again that they come

You say you care

You swear you care

But you’re never there

I go searching and the room is bare

As if

As if

As if you care

Like this confessional poem. Speaks from the heart.

Adam Mason from Melbourne, Australia on June 06, 2019:

Liked the poem, sad but so true. Negativity pushes people away

and there are aren't as many who understand or have been to similar places. Actions speak louder than words.
