Young Princess--Older Queen
I was born in the south. I live in the south and will die in the south. This is only a small part of the memories I share.
Young princess proud and fragile
Taking each dawn and covering her nights.
Young princess strong and wise
She is her past and future in her eyes.
Walk silently muted clouds you speak
Young princess, lioness, formidable, not weak.
Young princess, born in power
She builds straw homes, spear and tower.
Dark foe dares not to touch her hand
Young princess still the angry waters in her lands.
Young princess, find a secret place
Rest quietly, weep lightly, light your face.
The raven, the eagle, and serpent sings
Young princess nature bowed in faded things.
Young princess bold, strong, and daunting love
She reminds us of years, the fire and the dove.
Older queen, sage in wisdom, silent in grace
Older queen, once a princess, grown in lace.
Young princess, holds a heart in time
Young princess, kingdom thine.
