"Gratitude is the life-breath of God." - Sri Chinmoy

To have the beauty of a serene mind,

The purity of a loving Heart

And the divinity of a humble life." - Sri Chinmoy

For You, my Queen

For You, my Queen, my dreams are like a

Nestling bird, learning to fly anew. Even if they

Dimmer, like the night does in moonlight, I will

Ascend on a firmament of Light, to see Thy face.

In order to expedite my tears for You, we have

Encountered eons of challenges together. Now my

Pain is so filled with intensity, that the Heart burns.

The sun sheds its radiance, nourishing the earth. How

I long for this immensity, to increase the fire in my soul.

Love makes me an artist, wishing to sing with canaries,

Shed tears in the arid desert; Light candles on gloomy nights.

I’d like to reach out to the shooting stars, do whatever

It takes, to ensure You’re completely mines. Inside this

Citadel of beauty, is the Alchemist Supreme, pulling

Your soft tenderness, to the quintessence of my soul.

Sweet Shyama, I offer my impediments; yet cling

Pointlessly to shadows. Teach me the art of letting go, even

As tomorrows do to yesterdays, if only to blend, in the

Endless and wondrous aroma, of Thy celestial sweetness.

- Manatita, The Lantern Carrier. 25th march, 2021

You too, Dee.

Do not forget to look at the video of Rumi. So meaningful! Ask if you should need any clarity, but probably not necessary

Charming, Peggy.

We have so many connections! Sometimes a word, kind thought and so forth, can trigger memories in another. Your mom was a nature lover, perhaps. Birds feature regularly in my poetry. Gratitude.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on March 28, 2021:

It is always such a pleasure to be greeted by your words, and you have honored a sweet soul, Misbah, with your poetry. "Singing with canaries," made me think of the canary that my mother had in her kitchen for many years. It would brighten each day with songs.

Thank you, Pamela. You are very quick, like one waiting for me. Haha. Gratitude ... much!

Misbah, since I have accepted you as a student-friend, then spend 6 minutes listening to Rumi's video. You will get a life-time of Spirituality there. Go with no worldly thoughts. Leave the mind behind, open the spiritual Heart and just listen. You will be blessed by Allah.
