I went back to the house

Where I was raised

The place looked a lot smaller

Then in those gone by days

The grass was not mowed

Flower beds were full of weeds

They had even cut down

That old sycamore tree

The porch where i sat with my girlfriend

On those hot summer nights

Was all littered with

Hastily discarded bikes

The house looked in need

Of a new coat of paint

How could the new owners

Let my memories fade away


Fade away

Can’t go back to the

Way it was

Time forces the past to

Fade away fade away


As i stood there a lot of

Emotions ran through my mind

Gone was that special place

My heart was hoping to find

And with it all the memories

That were created there for me

I could not catch one glimpse

Of the past i came to see

With one last look i got in the car

And started the engine

And thought it is really true

You can’t go home again.

Jungle

Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

You better be careful

It’s easy to lose your way


As you walk life’s short path better be sure your way is true

Cause that‘s the only way you‘re gonna make it through

You see the devil’s a hungry lion he’s always on the prowl

Waiting for the right moment to come and take you down

He’ll use your own desires to lure you into his trap

Then he’ll take your life the next step may be your last


Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

You better be careful

It’s easy to lose your way


The way to get through life the way to make a stand

Is followin’ word for word what it says in the master’s plan

All the word’s were written penned with you in mind

Cause the master knew life would be an uphill climb

This doen’t mean the devil will never be watchin’ you

Cause takin’ down a believer is his favorite thing to do

You better follow the instructions

Or you will lose your way

Jungle Revisited

Welcome to the jungle

It’s your life day by day

Trying to survive

In a world that’s turned away

So you better be careful

Check the path you tread

Or you’re gonna find yourself

Walkin’ with the dead

You see the world shows

No mercy

It’ll drag you down

Tear you away from your faith

Try to keep you bound


You’ve got to run

Run through the jungle

Holdin’ onto God’s word

It’s your best defense

Mightier than the sword

The world is bathed in darkness

God’s word is the light

That will guide you through

The jungle

Till the day you get out


For now the jungle is

The devil’s domain

He’s the king of this wrold

Enjoying his reign

But the devil knows

One fact is not in doubt

His time on this earth

Is soon running out

The devil will show no mercy

He’ll try to drag you down

Put your faith in doubt

Hope to keep you bound
