You weigh on my heavy heart
Each night I feel the pain
It creeps up slowly
It does not ease
To my disdain
When the sun rises
Relieved the pain has gone
But I know it will return
At night again
I hear the sounds at night
Trying to feel you
Through the wind
I don’t know why
You are not there
To comfort me
Or the pain
I need to release you
To ease my heavy heart
It is the only way that I
Can feel happiness again

So sad, the past has a way of returning for quite sometime. I wish i could say it gets easier, but I guess pain is there for us to grow.

Always a good thing to wash away the past. When it lingers it can take a stranglehold on your everyday life. Very sad and heart wrenching, but better to move on. Nice work.
