I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.
nothing ever the same -
life drags on.
broken hearts and dashed hopes,
never to be mended -
tears never ended.
smoke and mist -
love that drifted away, never to stay.
once the kings of love,
left behind -
hearts crushed in the dust.
once put upon love’s pedestal,
glorifying in the glow of love -
till the curtain came down.
pieces of a puzzle,
never to find that missing link -
destroyed by love untrue.
leading to sleepless nights,
arms empty and cold -
longing for love deep into the night.
hot embers now cold,
once feeling so bold in love -
now unsure and dismal.
like champagne glasses smashed into a fireplace,
never to be whole again -
slivers piercing the heart.
lots of fears
and never ending rainy days,
leading to stormy and thunderous nights,
that build to a crescendo because of –
yesterdays shattered dreams…

Sometimes we get over those shattered dreams, and sometimes we don't. Either way, we should learn from life's downturns. Good expression, Gypsy.

Poems such as this has more impact to me now that I am pushing 40 years
...Makes me think about how well I used the time that passed by. The words, how the words were combined, blend well with cold air...puts me in he mood to reflect...
