Writer's Feelings for a Fan

Umesh is a freelance writer contributing his creative writings on varied subjects in various knowledge and educational sites in internet.

Preface

The most valuable entity for an author, writer or poet is his followers who read his works and follow him. They are lifeline for his delicate life balanced on the meticulous and sharp edge of creativity. This poem is an effort to depict these feelings and incidentally dedicated by me to my cousin, Sangita.

Writer's feelings for a fan

A writer's creation is,
Like a baby is born.
It is fresh and tender,
Family is adorned.

What the writer wants is,
Only the reader's nods.
Some appreciations,
And a few applauds.

The writer values much,
The credulous fans.
Whose praise and acclaim,
Maketh him some fame.

In the garden of creativity,
Writer searches admirers.
Whose good wishes are,
Like the beautiful flowers.

This poem is dedicated to,
An ardent fan of that level.
For whom I have composed,
This short subtle Madrigal.

Endnote

A writer always gets happiness from the reader's reactions and reverberations. It is a natural instinct and though many writers write for their own satisfaction but many times their writings also become common in the masses and make them famous.

This one is nice, Umesh.

In the garden of creativity,

Writer searches admirers.

Whose good wishes are,

Like the beautiful flowers.

That touches upon it beautifully.

Thanks for sharing.

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on April 21, 2020:

That is the same as with all art. The artist and writer know that they are artists or writers, but to have the viewer affirm that is so important. It makes us feel that we are not wasting our time. Very good poem.

Blessings,

Denise

It is always good to get some feedback when we publish articles. It starts slowly at first, which is natural. Your cousin was your first fan and follower, which is nice. I am sure that she appreciates this poem of yours.

Umesh Chandra Bhatt (author) from Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, India on April 16, 2020:

Linda, my cousin was the only person to view and comment on my articles initially when I did not have well wishers like you and of course Dora, Bill, John, Liz, Rajan, Prateek, Ruby Jean, Peggy, Eric, Sourav, MG, Shaila, Sauna, Jamie, Brenda, Manatita and many more. So I thought to dedicate this small composition to her. Thanks a lot for your nice comment.

Sangita on April 15, 2020:

Aww that is utterly sweet! I think most writers have someone in mind when they write (they are kind of expecting some reactions from a particular person/ set of persons) - this is a lovely acknowledgement of that.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on April 15, 2020:

Very true. It is the admirations and honest feedbacks of the fans that mends the way of writing of a writer. Sometimes it may be encouraging while other times discouraging too.

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on April 15, 2020:

Very true, my friend. There is a special bond between writer and follower, and it is unlike anything I have ever experienced. It truly feeds my soul.

Liz Westwood from UK on April 15, 2020:

A worthy ode to any fan. At first I wondered if the weather was hot and you were referring to an electric fan, bringing cooling air. But as soon as I read beyond the title, it all became very clear.

Very cool. I must say that I like criticism too. It means someone took the time to read critically - that also is cool.

This one shows our vulnerability, I like that.
