I Am a Woman - Do You See Me?

Nithya Venkat enjoys writing about nature and different aspects of life in the form of poetic verses.

Women

Women

I have written this poem in response to Bill Holland aka billybuc's challenge,

When I saw the photo of his lovely wife standing on the mountain top, I could see a woman.

A woman

  • filled with kindness and compassion
  • who can make this world a better place to live in
  • who spreads joy and happiness
  • who can face anything that comes her way

I hope you enjoy reading this poem as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Woman on the Mountain Top

Do you see me standing here

Atop a mountain towering high

I am strong I have no fear

I am a woman strong am I

You can’t deny me what is mine

Being human is what I enshrine

I have the freedom to do as I like

Being rude and hateful is what I dislike

I have the power to give, love and share

Doing what is right is all about what I care

I will never hesitate to put up a fight

Proclaim to the world what is not right

I have the power to bring about a change

Educate all girls and help them exchange

Spread the word of knowledge to educate

Girl empowerment is what I will legislate

This wide world is for everyone to live

For everyone to share, care, love and give

Make this world a better place I will

I can climb a mountain or a steep hill

I am a woman
