Woe Is Me, Woe Is You

Poetry is turning out to be a very cathartic medium, I should do this more often.

woe-is-me-woe-is-you

Woe is me, woe is me,

For this love we cannot see!

Woe is you, woe is you,

For this love we can’t undo!

Woe is me, woe is me,

Between the trifles, fleeting glee!

Woe is you, woe is you,

Between the sighs of feeling blue!

Woe is me, woe is me,

Taking root like strongest tree!

Woe is you, woe is you,

Taking one and making two!

Woe is me, woe is me,

You, I, the devil are three!

Woe is you, woe is you,

You start fresh, begin anew!

Woe is me, woe is me,

From the silence hear my plea!

Woe is you, woe is you,

From the dust you go achoo!

Woe is me, woe is me,

Get away it’s time to flee!

Woe is you, woe is you,

Get the pieces, grab the glue!

Woe is me and woe is you,

Laugh for free, and party too!

Smile for Me

Whether you are struggling through the hard times that life has put on your plate, remaining strong despite wanting to break down, or you are in the high times and your spirit is full of youthful energy... take some time to give me a smile right now. I might not be able to see it, and I may not ever get the pleasure of seeing it within this lifetime, but knowing you smiled for me while reading these words will be enough. Know that I am smiling right back.

Kyler J Falk (author) from Corona, CA on March 05, 2020:

The devil is welcome wherever I may tread, cannot have good without the evil, Brenda. I fear no deity, real or fictional. Not to mention without the devil much of the beauty we "idolize" would not be here.

Then again I don't believe such nonsense to begin with, I'm just humoring what you made a focal point.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on March 04, 2020:

I am smiling. Thank you for that pleasure.

This poem reminds us all to hold on through the struggles.

There is only room for two...the devil will not do.

Thanks for sharing.
