Without Fear
A man struggling to find purpose, and to live a passionate, humble human experience.
Fear made me into a lion,
But sometimes I want to be a house cat.
What a life to live to see myself in you,
For that’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
I’m afraid of words, yet I crave a voice—
One I feel was taken by smoke and fire.
I died in this fire, but now I see air,
And it bends not to my will, but for you.
I don’t have to be Hemingway to find my way,
I just have to be me, your match made in Heaven.
When I think of you, I think of all,
And I remember myself above it all.
The path to you is full of fear,
But it’s one I will gladly take—
Not just for you, but also my own sake.
You didn’t let me go,
So I won’t dare let fear.
Let me be afraid, as long
As that fear brings me closer
To you, my canary and rose gold.
