Although we've found ourselves in a place and a time,

where days have blackened as nights grow longer and even darker still…

Despite the ambiance of hopelessness,

The absence of the suns rays and the blight of the bitter breeze…

It’s in these moments

We endure together…

Fighting to keep alive

the embers
that flicker inside…

Reminding one another

of the fire that ignites...

When we kiss

melting and fusing us

as we touch
 skin-to-skin

...

Entwining our roots,

strengthening our poise

Our branches,

Fruitful, yet bare

Separate and grow...

Reaching together

toward the blackened skies

blanketed beneath
the still cold white

Silently transforming....

though we appear to have died,

We lie at peace...

Sleeping Awake

creating our own heat

Waiting together

for the return of Spring…
