When it Rains on Me

Updated on October 25, 2017

Isabella is a student in Houston, TX and has been writing for several years. She is an avid reader, artist, and musician.

Rain kisses my cheeks,

torrents of droplets,

running down my face in streaks.

I am delirious with the pain of the precipitation-

pelting bullets at my skinny frame.

And suddenly,

just when I feel I can hold on no more,

the stains on my cheeks transform-

into liquid sunshine, glinting off the remnants of my despair,

to paint me a Rainbow out of poetry and air.

That's a really lovely poem, Isabella. I love how to talk about rain kissing your cheeks and about the liquid sunshine. Beautiful. =)

The imagery of the rain, nd the scene it creates, the description and the overall flow is awesome. Thumbs Up for me!

This is beautiful, Bella. It is sometimes hard to remember the sunshine returns while in the midst of despair. In those moments words like "this too shall pass" sometimes seem hollow as well, but it does pass and things look bright again. There is beauty in pain, too.
