When Waves Of Tyranny Recede
An aspiring poet, Shafqat M. holds a master's degree in English Literature from the University of Kashmir.
When waves of tyranny recede
And tide comes home,
Scores will be settled
Forever, my friend!
Don't fret, don't lose hope,
Sun is but a night away.
Spirits will be aflame, let this cold night pass,
And bright summer morn will smile,
Upon our cold shoulders.
Smile, dear friend!
Angels of mercy await one last reckoning
For cloak of justice to wrap you in.
And the cruel will have nowhere to go.
Their gold-bedecked robes of tyranny
Have days numbered till they fray
And shred after shred, they will lie exposed,
Till scores are finally settled, my friend!
