When Love Came

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida. .

It came like a magical genie,

through a stream of smoke,

from a golden lamp,

like so many colorful butterflies,

flittering from flower to flower,

in the summertime when love came.

It filled my world,

with lovely music,

like a bee serenade -

on a lovely, sunny summer’s day.

It made me smile,

to think of your eyes so blue -

as blue as the summer skies above.

So many things,

it brought to mind

and I find,

that it gives my heart wings,

makes me want to fly -

with the birds up high.

Fly beside the white drifting clouds,

as they drift by,

it makes me hear old melodies,

that fill me with memories

and I can imagine,

the musical notes,

flying about me,

making me giddy with happiness,

so incredible is this unbelievable feeling -

the feeling that is love.

And when love signals,

that eternal parting,

it is never goodbye,

it is just aloha –

until the day we meet again.

Rasma, I love the positive outlook of this poem. It's fluid, free-flowing and all-knowing that the parting of loved ones is never goodbye.

It's nice to see you healing, my friend.

I like how you join and heal love with nature...if we can't appreciate nature, we cannot love.

Wonderful display of feelings.

Love makes one feel so many things even if just for a moment.

Good read.

Wonderful. I like the style.

Giddy and a Heart with Wings kind of resonates with me.
