Poem: What Do You See ?

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Poem Summary

What do you see is a poem describing how many of us hide our real self like we are trapped inside a mirror. We reach for dreams we can not touch instead of looking at what is right in front of us.

"I See You" by Luke Bryan

What Do You See?

Trapped

within a mirror,

no where can we roam.

Traveling through life

surviving on a dream,

not listening

to our inner soul.

Hiding in a secret place

grasping what we can't touch,

not allowing our eyes

to see the true reflection

of what is standing right in front of us.

what-do-your-eyes-see

I don't have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness-- it's right in front of me if I'm paying attention and practicing gratitude.

Ravi

Thank you.

You understand the importance of listening to one's inner soul.

We so often push it aside.

Have a great day.

Wonderful message here Brenda. So many of us knowingly or unknowingly hide our true selves and do not listen to our true inner voice. The real spiritual awakening comes when we listen to our inner selves. Thanks for sharing.
