What I Would Like. A Pre-Valentine Taster. Wednesday's Inspiration 13

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Wisdom from the Master

A moment of self-giving life,

can conquer the sorrows

Of many long years." - Sri Chinmoy

What I Would Like. A Free-style Sonnet

I would like to look at You,

The way I look at flowers: pure,

Elegant, more fragrant than a Dior J’adore.

I would like to paint Your smile,

The way Love paints the dawn: lustrous,

Immaculate; blessed with the pinnacle of sweetness.

I would have You light my world,

The way stars glow in darkness,

Beaming with the effulgent kiss of twilight.

I would like to ask the swan,

To salute your charm and gracefulness,

Gliding in tranquility, on a most sacred lake.

I would like to embrace the moon so tenderly,

That we both bask in the Joy of Your candescent lustre.

- Manatita, the Lantern Carrier 27th Jan, 2021

Wisdom on the Self

"Above all, be true to yourself.

And if you cannot put your Heart in it,

Take yourself out of it." - Author unknown

But you look graceful! Shouldn't he look handsome still? Just a shift in his angle of vision, perhaps. All happens for the best, as there's no alternative. Give him my Love, Doris. Great seeing you! - Manatita

Doris James MizBejabbers from Beautiful South on January 27, 2021:

Beautiful, Manatita. I enjoyed your special poem. Valentine's Day holds a special place for me because that's the day I met my husband. I started a day at a new job on Valentine's Day 1983, and there he was, young and handsome. Here he is today, older, bent from ravages of time, and long haired from pandemic isolation. Who would have guessed we'd end up this way? Maybe next Valentines Day we can rejoice that it's over.

manatita44 (author) from london on January 27, 2021:

I think I've replied to you on Louise slot. Thank you so much!! Peace!

manatita44 (author) from london on January 27, 2021:

Sha, then I'm yours! Although this poem isn't addressed to humans, I was scared to offer it to anyone. Chuckle. Love can mean so many different things! Ok, I'll show up with a bouquet of roses in two weeks. Lol. Thank you so much!!

Louise Powles from Norfolk, England on January 27, 2021:
