What Did You Expect Lord?

Sin’s a friend I always forgive
I know what the good Lord said
I’m not worth his time
But if I forgive my friend
Then to heaven I’ll go instead

It don’t seem right to me
I was made to love the wrong way
I lie and then send flowers
But if I cry when it’s over
Maybe you’ll know why I pray

Why Lord why
Temptation wasn’t my idea
I smile at things I understand
My tears I can’t explain
Tell me about it again

It’s raining more than ever
Did Noah shut the door again
Sounds like you don’t love me
Sounds like you’re sorry you made me

The time has come for me to know
I remember how you made me feel
You met only my eyes my love
I knew as you walked away
It was my soul that lust tried to steal

Why Lord why
Temptation wasn’t my idea
I smile at things I understand
My tears I can’t explain
Tell me about it again

Thank you Nellie! It is an awareness of how I'm programmed. I didn't ask to lust after anyone. But it's inside of me.

It's a stunningly aware and accurate poem, Mark. Yes.
