What Could Be Never Became Possible
There Are Many Dreams That Fade Away
I believed in so many different thoughts growing up
What were my core beliefs you may ask?
They are based partly on cliche's
I heard and believed over my lifetime
A lot were passed down from my father
Right or wrong
Words I lived by and I learned to respect
If you do bad it will come back to haunt you
Remain calm in the face of danger
Keep your head while other people are losing theirs
If you tried your best it was good enough
Between right and wrong right will always prevail in the end
If someone treats you bad turn the other cheek
If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all
Don't judge people because you wouldn't want to be judged
Treat other people the way you want to be treated
Nobody loves a quitter
If you can look yourself in the mirror every morning
Then you are living a good life
If you do wrong
You have to look over your shoulder for life
That is no way to live
Do the right thing at the right time then you don't have to worry
The list goes on
Nothing good happens when the lights go out
Don't cry over spilled milk
Some thoughts are more difficult to imagine let alone believe
I will rather be a lover than a fighter
Do it right the first time
Then you won't have to do it again
Don't worry about what other people are doing
Be concerned about yourself
You really don't know that person
Until you have walked in their footsteps
Then over time, my own ideas started to develop
Don't get involved in other peoples business
You will get the short end of the stick when it is over
Help people instead of hurting them
Then I began to believe some things that may not be true
Even though everyone that I know
In the same situation
Falls in that category
Don't get involved with someone
If they come from a broken marriage or a divorce
Mixed with things that I tried to prove false
But over long periods of time
I was wrong time and time again
You don't need a lot
Live a simple life and you have fewer worries
A fool and his money soon parts
You couldn't possibly know
You haven't lived long enough
You don't have enough life knowledge
Gambling doesn't pay
You have to earn your money
There is no easy way
When you look at this great melting pot of ideas and thoughts
It has got me this far
I haven't done too, too bad
I could be far worse
It kept me out of harms way
Then there are things that are just are
Nobody loves a tattle tail
Mind your own business
It is funny how our thoughts change us in all different ways
Hopefully to make us be the best version of ourselves
So in all this
I have had many dreams that I believed I could make possible
They fell quicker than the footwork of Muhammad Ali
For what reason
I am not so sure
I tried my best and it never worked out
I am always learning and will keep trying
There is something that comes with age
Not only grey hair and wrinkles
We may not only be losing our hair but our minds too

Ann Carr In a world where everyone should love everyone instead people go out of their way to do the opposite. Drive people crazy and have a bad attitude and show a very grim outlook. I keep hoping that those people will get tired. I think a dreamer has to think outside of the box and if we keep working on it we can make it possible. Then again we get our heart broken many more times in the process. Thank you for always sharing so many thoughts and ideas. Have a great day tomorrow.

Chrish Canosa I love all phrases. If you think of any more please share. Your method of embodying the wisdom of "self-compassion" "acceptance without judgement" is awesome. Keep sharing new tips and ideas. We can learn so much from each other. Thank you so much for reading my poems and sharing your comments. Have an amazing night.

Brenda Arledge I think you will always look great. Men have bags under their eyes and any hair will do. Do you have many dreams you wanted to come true? Some just aren't possible. Not because we did not try hard enough. Maybe the timing wasn't right. I will follow your advice and keep thinking of new thoughts. Thank you for all your comments and understanding. May tomorrow be as great as today.

John Hansen I think it is sad that when we finally figure things out we are up there in years. There should be a crash course so we can get an early jump. I hope all is well with you and your family. Now that the wildfires have stopped how is Australia doing with the recovery? Thank you for so many comments and support over the years. Pleasant dreams.

So many phrases that I heard as I grew up too! We make our own choices and our own ways, don't we, hopefully with good advice from parents and friends. We can't do more than try our best and be kind to everyone. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.
I found that many childhood dreams just weren't practical! However, realistic goals are achievable and I'm fairly happy with those. Haven't finished yet though!
Great ideas here! I hope you're keeping safe and well, you and yours.

Phrases are So straight forward perfectly just like an arrow.(which is my favorite) So much to learn and so much to know. Im so young but trust me ive got so much fails. I always blame the outcomes to those people around me even to my family, and then one day - I don't exactly know how it happend (maybe it's part of maturity ?) Or the help of some psychologist, I have been reading about behaviors specially on how to accept and face problems instead of running everytime they showed up which is a very wrong idea. Whenever odds hit me and my decision fails me I had to remain calm and remind my self yes I made this so I will face the ugly outcomes and face the problem. I have been embodying the wisdom of " self compassion "
" acceptance without judgement "
My mistakes my life thunder and storms their like a milk for my coffee without them my cup of coffee wouldn't be perfect :-) awesome message sir Dream On! I hope you have a super awesome Day out there !!! God bless you and your wife.

Dream on,
I have heard so many of those saying all my life.
It was interesting to read...reminding me of some I had forgotten.
I'm not sure why some things don't work out for us when we are young...but I wouldn't wait for age.
We never know what is going to happen & it's best to conquer your dreams while you are young.
Put your best foot forward & stop listening to those old sayings...Create new ones...one that work for you.
Speak for yourself about losing your hair & your mind...I truly want to keep both.
Maybe....if i am a lucky old gal.
Take care. Go find the dreams.
Make them a reality!!!

A lot of wise and not so wise sayings mixed in here Dream On. We have to learn what advice is true and what isn't as we go through life. Yes, wisdom cames with age.
