Wet Wild Wonders of Water
Cheryl enjoys writing poetry related to her personal faith in Christ and the things she had observed in life.
IThrough the trees daylight glistens
Upon the water the sunlight gleams
The sound you hear when you closely listen
Is the gentle flowing of the stream
Laughter pierced the atmosphere
Three splashes ripple the pool
Young boys who had been playing near
Enjoy a moment where it’s cool
Diving under bobbing up soaked from head to toe
Indulging in the joys of being a child
A favorite place they love to go
Blissful water wonders wet and wild

Such a wonderful picture your poem conjures up Cheryl. As a child I used to enjoy swimming in the river not very far from our home and your poem brings back memories of those carefree moments.

That’s wonderful. My brothers and their friends swam in a local stream but I was not allowed.

We had a stream about a quarter mile behind our house, before moving to Texas, where I often went alone to look at goldfish with white tails and fins and so much more. Only a few places has depth to jump in - no diving at all - but it was serene and I enjoyed it when I could sneak away and get there alone. I have always been a loner, seldom enjoyed the company of others although I am the fourth of five by my Mother. Thanks for sharing it and reminding me of my childhood in the country.

You've captured the fun and the beauty of children splashing about in water. Lovely!
