We Were Cosmonauts

Author:

We were cosmonauts;

Unafraid to explore each other's space.

We were no sun and moon,

there was no eternal chase.

We were bound to collide,

like space rocks.

Sight amidst dark matter,

Fixated --

as if we were the only visible stars;

as if we were the only debris;

as if there was only a galaxy.

We were cosmonauts;

And this was our story --

Me,

You,

the Universe,

and its mysteries.

Hello Kat! Thanks for the appreciation. I have more of this confusion to come.

This piece is ironic; uplifting but made me sad at the same time. A beautifully written poem that touched my soul from edge to edge.
