Poetry

You see him every day on the street

But you hold your head up high

He asks for a little change

You choose to walk on by

His face is stained from dirt and tears

As he ponders why

You turn away your nose in the air

Again you choose to walk on by

You see him sifting through trash cans

Looking for something to eat

And pretend you don't notice

He has no shoes on his feet

It's not your problem you reason

So you keep your head held high

In your designer clothes and expensive purse

You'll continue to walk on by
