Victim Shaming - Breaking Down the Cult of Entertaining

Poetry is the food of the soul. It's my greatest contribution to the world and an area I can always grow.

Victim shaming…

Not entertaining

When the kings decide who lives and dies

And the casting couch therein lies

The open door to halls of fame

And the lifetime of both guilt and shame

It’s front page news

For some the blues…

But when buried secrets become the story

Crushing future hopes of glory

Names are named and techniques spoken

Tales of dreams and those heartbroken

Stolen virtue by coercion

Dingy Directors who ooze perversion

Their sweaty bodies and fetid breath

Threatened with a professional death

Unless the tab is paid in flesh

The younger ones, so new and fresh

Are targeted by the old Producers

The evil ones; the rich seducers

Done the deed

Feel the seed

Baggage now for perpetuity

A physical act for opportunity

Good old boys who swap and share

Kept in line by shame and scare

Screaming in silence; living in pain

A necessity they say, if you play the game

It’s Hollywood you see; that dank darkened hole

Where it’s all about money, sex, and control

That is until now; and it came in a hurry

Like rats on a ship, watch as they scurry

To rehab, to Europe, or deep into hiding

While even more wounded, think of deciding

Expose means recall; to the times of submission

Things they’ve shut out; hidden from vision

But have faith; you'll see justice

As the kings finally busted

And those who’ve shamed

Finally get the blame
