Introduction

Sit with me for while…..relax and let your mind meander.

See where your heart takes you.

Velvet Waters: A Poem

Smooth cool and restful,

lie two sides plentiful.

Along two lengths

that go on for a mile in strength.

Stopping outward movement

within, blossoming hidden patterns of scent

and beauty,

time spells of disquiet that dent.

Roughness of spoken tone and words,

breaks the soul into pieces of curd,

composing a sight,

of unpleasurable intricacies of might.

Tones of sunshine,

interwoven with words that bind,

imagines a Monet reflection,

hidden within a plan of direction.

A golden orb of glow arises,

petals of yellow rays’ tithes,

tingles and melts.

The outer frames hide the unseen quells.

Shivers of ecstasy,

travel from valley to mountain high easy,

sweeping away,

the unthinking charcoal at play.

Interwoven heart threads,

faith flourishing with rising treads,

reaching one’s unknown destination,

through the film of blinding pedestrian.

When love and belief is given,

one flies to the moon and back in shivers.

Words are the manifestation,

of the song in one’s heart’s presentation.

No child is too young or old,

to hear and trust one’s heart song told.

Be not caught up in yester’s sorrow,

or, worry of now, look to tomorrow.

Can too much tenderness,

dignify the melting of a softness?

Tenderness powers splintering of a block of ice,

kaleidoscoping trails of winding heart speak trice.

Rivers of feelings,

tentatively dip, then dives out of the steel peelings,

oozing interconnectedness,

knowing more, than when in containment of unruliness.

Amiability scoops up the rivers

that meander diverse slivers.

Yet, all are whole facets,

of one heart and mind, dash it.

I am a simple ice cube,

losing shape and form of a tube.

As the sun showers the cube,

softness and warmth upon the soul, becomes new.

No longer a product of finiteness,

now flowing spontaneously with no mess,

into many avenues of dimensions,

intact and whole as one timepiece manifest.

Shame about the ending to that peaceful feeling.

I am glad you could see and feel the imagery, shanmarie. Here's to us writing more poetry (smile)

Beautiful imagery here. Reminds me of the time I left the house without telling my aunt. I took a trail behind their home and set by the creek forvawhile so clear and beautiful as it trickled over the rocks on its path through the woods. Such a peaceful feeling. Of course, then I got in trouble. LOL
