Unpredictable Sea
Why is it I have so much emotion?
It seems it runs as deep as oceans.
It sweeps me over like the morning tide,
I feel it like waves crashing inside.
Sometimes it's high,
Sometimes it's low.
It takes me wherever it wants me to go.
It tosses me around like a storm out at sea,
Whether it’s high or its low,
It won't let me be.
I feel the emotion,
I fight it inside,
Yet it pulls me under like a raging rip tide.
I search for the shore,
The calm and the rest,
It seems deep emotion is my life vest.
I float right along in the current of life,
As emotions cut deep like the blade of a knife.
And so my emotion,
Just like the sea,
Are unpredictable and free.

This is an excellent descriptive poem describing what can be a very debilitating condition. Many clients I see who have Bi-Polar often describe the roller-coaster of emotions which they go through; and I think your poem outlines this very accurately. Thank you for sharing.

This was a well-written poem that flowed delightfully, even though it is about a difficult condition. You described being bi-polar perfectly in verse.
