Unlikely Friends
I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.
Who would have thought, surely not me, that one day we would have been friends?
We were worlds apart, you in your own little corner and I in mine.
But as events unfold by the passage of time
Our pathways crossed, a simple hi, an half way goodbye, just small words spoken.
Now look at us together, holding each others secrets
an unlikely partnership, filled with beautiful moments and happiness
Who would have thought this coalition was even possible
But now your face is my back and my face yours, inseparable.
We have so many things in common, it is just unbelievable
That a couple month ago we never spoke a word to each other, now together we are so audible.
We rule under the same signs, it's just perfect
Now we are inseparable.
Beautifully incomparable.
I love you my friend
I will love you everyday until life ends.

Your poem is so very honest, I feel any two true friends would relate. I have grown up seeing people forcibly make friends based on superficial criteria such as language, region, religion, and what not. The truest of friendships, it seems though, form only in unexpected circumstances. I am glad you wrote this. Thank you for sharing.
